This is a graceful and elegant walnut bowl measuring 44” long x 9” wide x 3.5” high. I carved this from a solid walnut log....cut the log in half, carved out the middle and shaped the bottom to sit flat. Admire the contrast of colors from the warm chocolate brown inside, to the buttery-creamy color of the outside edges. This beautiful piece would be perfect for displaying in your living room, entry foyer or perhaps the office conference room.

This bowl has a flat bottom on one end to sit flat and sturdy, and has a wonderful rustic quality that is truly a unique centerpiece for your home.
Also, you will notice an interesting knot hole at one end which creates an interesting feature that catches the eye.
It takes several months to create such a work of natural art.
The logs I use are rescued from the fireplace wood pile. My process in creating such pieces is a very organic and artistic one. First, I select the wood log, and using a chainsaw I cut it in half and carve out the rough shape. From there, it’s off to the shop for hours and hours of carving and smoothing to its final form. After a final sanding to smooth all the surfaces, I apply several coats of a durable oil-urethane sealer. This finish is hand-rubbed to a smooth, lustrous satin sheen. Wonderful to touch and admire its beauty.
On the bottom, you will notice my shop’s logo which is branded into the wood for authenticity.
This is truly an heirloom quality piece to add warmth and character to any room.
